Festive FAQ

Your Questions Answered

  • Yes. During the season, we serve our Festive & Panto Menu and a Kids’ Menu (under 12s), plus our full Desserts and Drinks menus.
    No à la carte or other set menus are available during this time — it keeps service smooth and the kitchen running like clockwork.

    Our Festive & Panto Menu includes 10 starters, 20 mains, and 7 desserts — a mix of Sannio favourites and seasonal specials.


    It’s designed so everyone in your group finds something they’ll love — and yes, you really are spoiled for choice.

  • On busy festive days we run set sittings to keep everything running smoothly:
    • 4:00 pm (back by 5:30 pm)
    • 5:30 pm (back by 7:00 pm)
    • 7:00 pm
    • Fridays/Saturdays: 8:30–9:00 pm
    On Sundays, we’re open all day from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm.

  • Our bookings are designed for comfort, not rushing:
    • 1-course = 60 minutes
    • 2 or 3-course = 90 minutes
    Time starts from your booked time (not arrival), so being punctual helps you get the full experience.

    Except busy pre theatre times, we can be quite flexible, especially in the afternoons and evenings, so please email us if you would like to have a bit longer at your table during our quieter times. Our email address is info@sannio.co.uk

  • Yes — our Kids’ Menu is available for under-12s, even during the festive period.
    Please note: each guest, including children, must order at least one main course. If your table chooses to dine from main courses only, the table time is 60 minutes.

  • Festive Bookings of 1–9 Guests
    A credit card guarantee is required for all Festive bookings of 5–9 guests.

    Bookings of 1–4 guests do not require a guarantee.

    Festive Bookings of 10 Guests or More
    A £20 per person deposit is required for all Festive bookings of 10 guests or more.
    All deposits are non-refundable.

    If changes are made 72 hours or more before your booking time:
    • The deposit for any guests removed will be deducted from your final bill.

    If you cancel or reduce numbers within 24 hours of your booking time, a £20 per person charge applies.

    Private Hire Bookings

    Private hire bookings operate under separate terms.

    Two weeks’ notice is required for:
    • Any major change such as a reduction in numbers of 25% or more
    Full cancellation of the event

    If a major change or cancellation is made within two weeks, your private-hire deposit becomes a fee and will not be returned or transferred.
    Depending on staffing, preparation and costs already incurred, additional charges may also apply.

    Notice Period & Charges
    Your card may be charged if the party does not arrive, cancels, or reduces numbers without giving the required notice set out in our Terms & Conditions.

  • We totally understand plans can change!
    If you need to cancel, please do this online — just click ‘Cancel My Reservation’ in your confirmation email, and we’ll receive your cancellation automatically.

    You can cancel your booking at any time, but cancellations made within 24 hours of your booking time, or no-shows, will incur a £20 per person fee.

    For group bookings, we kindly ask for at least 72 hours’ notice where possible to help us reschedule. For Private Hire bookings a notice period of 14 days is required.

  • We love that enthusiasm — but during the Festive & Panto Season, arriving early often means your table isn’t ready yet.
    If you’re booked for 5:30 pm, your table will only be available at that time. We simply don’t have a waiting area, and we want everyone to enjoy their meal without being rushed.
    There are great local bars nearby if you fancy a pre-dinner drink, including The Variety Bar and The Hengler’s Circus (Wetherspoons) — both just around the corner!

  • No problem — just email us at info@sannio.co.ukif you’re more than 10 minutes behind.
    If we haven’t heard from you and you’re over 10 minutes late, your table might be released to other guests.
    We’ll always do our best to seat you on arrival, but please note we can’t extend your table time past your original booking.

  • We’ll always do our best!
    Weekdays and quieter days often allow for a bit of extra time, and Fridays or Sundays might be flexible too.
    Saturdays are our busiest, so extensions aren’t available between 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm on pre-theatre days.
    If you’d like to stay longer, just email us after booking, and we’ll see what’s possible.

  • Our cosy dining room seats up to 50 guests.
    For large group bookings or private hire enquiries, email us directly at info@sannio.co.uk — we’ll be happy to help plan your celebration.

  • Very! We specialise in pre- and post-theatre dining, with nearly 50 years of experience in timed service.
    Everything is cooked fresh to order, but our kitchen is fine-tuned for fast, efficient dining — you’ll be well fed and on time for your show.

  • During the Festive & Panto Season, we serve from our Festive & Panto Menu only.
    We don’t take bookings for drinks-only tables, as every booking is allocated for diners. You’re very welcome to join us for a meal — or visit one of the great nearby bars before or after.
